## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS PARKED AT THE GATE. THE PASSENGERS HAD ALREADY BEEN DEPLANED. THE PILOT WAS DRY MOTORING THE #1 ENGINE AFTER A PREVIOUS HUNG START. THE PILOT THEN OBSERVED THE FIRE HANDLE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATE AND THEN HEARD THE AURAL FIRE WARNING BELL SOUND OFF. THE PILOT THEN PULLED THE FIRE HANDLE AND USED BOTH FIRE BOTTLES TO EXTINGUISH THE INTERNAL ENGINE FIRE. BOTH FIRE HANDLE WARNING LIGHT AND WARNING BELL INDICATIONS CEASED. THE ARFF ARRIVED ON SCENE AND ALSO SPRAYED 500 LBS. OF EXTINGUISHING AGENT INTO THE #1 ENGINE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
