## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AN AIR CANADA AIRBUS 319 WAS TAXIING INTO GATE E1 AT CHICAGO O'HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. THE GROUND HANDLER, PROVIDING MARSHALLING SERVICE, DIRECTED THE AIRCRAFT TO LINE UP ON A TAXI LINE DESIGNATED FOR AN AIRBUS 321, A MUCH LONGER AIRCRAFT. AS THE AIRCRAFT COMPLETED THE TURN INTO THE GATE AREA ON THE IMPROPER TAXI LINE, THE LEFT WING TIP CAME IN CONTACT WITH A FIXED SET OF METAL STAIRS ON THE SIDE OF THE TERMINAL. THE WING SUSTAINED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE, REQUIRING THE REPLACEMENT OF THE WING TIP LIGHT LENS. THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED AN NO EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT WAS REQUESTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
