## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JUNE 25, 2004, MR. GLENN E. BARBER, HOLDER OF STUDENT PILOT CERTIFICATE FF2774161, PERFORMED THREE TOUCH-AND-GO LANDINGS AT ODESSA AIRPORT (ODO) WITH HIS INSTRUCTOR ON BOARD. THE INSTRUCTOR STEPPED OUT OF THE AIRCRAFT AND MR. BARBER PERFORMED TWO SOLO TOUCH-AND-GO LANDINGS WITHOUT INCIDENT. MR. BARBER THEN DECIDED TO PERFORM A SOFT FIELD LANDING ON RUNWAY 11 BECAUSE OF CHANGES IN THE WIND DIRECTION. HE STATED THAT HE CAME IN HOT AND FLARED TOO SOON CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO PORPOISE. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED TWO TIMES. ON THE SECOND BOUNCE THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE/NOSE GEAR MOUNT AND ONE PROPELLER TIP. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
