## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT IN COMMAND (STUDENT PILOT) OF N5321K LANDED IN GUSTY CROSSWIND CONDITIONS ON RUNWAY 26L AT THE CHINO AIRPORT, CHINO, CA. THE STUDENT PILOT FAILED TO INITIATE ADEQUATE CROSSWIND CONTROL INPUTS DURING TOUCHDOWN, CONSEQUENTLY LANDING IN A CRABBED CONDITION INTO THE WIND. THE STUDENT ADDED HEAVY BRAKING DURING THIS CRABBED CONDITION AND LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR INJURIES TO THE STUDENT PILOT. THE STUDENT PILOT AND SUPERVISING FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR WERE COUNSELED ON JULY 30, 2004.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
