## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) A HIGHLY MODIFIED CESSNA 150 WITH AN UNAPPROVED ENGINE AND FUEL SYSTEM INSTALLAION IN CRUISE FLIGHT EXPERIENCED RAPID AND COMPLETE LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE CAUSING POOR ENGINE PERFORMANCE. THE PILOT WAS ABLE TO EXECUTE A SUCCESSFUL FORCED OPEN GRASS FIELD LANDING UNDER POWER. EVIDENCE INDICATES THAT FOLLOWING THE LANDING, UNCOMMANDED ENGINE SHUTDOWN OCCURRED. THE LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE APPEARS TO BE DUE TO AN OIL FILTER MOUNT AND TRANSFER TUBE CRACK THAT CAUSED: 1. THE OIL FILTER SYSTEM HOUSING/MOUNT TO BREAK AWAY FROM THE ENGINE BLOCK 2. TOTAL ENGINE OIL LOSS 3. ENGINE OIL STARVATION

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
