## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT REPORTS THAT ON A FLIGHT FROM SEBRING TO POMPANO, THE LANDING GEAR CIRCUIT BREAKER POPPED AND HE ATTEMPTED TO RESET IT AND HE SAW SPARKS. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED A MANUAL EXTENSION OF THE GEAR BUT WAS UNABLE TO GET A DOWN AND LOCKED INDICATION. THE PILOT REPORTED THE GEAR PROBLEM TO THE POMPANO TOWER. A HELICOPTER IN THE AREA STATED THAT THE GEAR APPEARED TO BE DOWN AND THE PILOT FLEW BY THE TOWER AND THE CONTROLLER ALSO STATED THAT THE GEAR APPEARED TO BE DOWN. A LANDING WAS MADE ON RUNWAY 15 AND THE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE AND DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER. THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIFTED ONTO A HELICOPTER DOLLY AND TOWED TO ANTHONY AVIATION. ON 07/08/04 THE MECHANIC IDENTIFIED STRIPPED SPLINES ON THE EMERGENCY EXTENSION SHAFT WHICH WOULD NOT ALLOW THE GEAR TO FULLY EXTEND MANUALLY. IT IS UNCLEAR WHEN THE SPLINE WAS DAMAGED AND WHY. THE MECHANIC DID PERFORM A SUCCESSFUL MANUAL EXTENSION DURING THE ANNUAL INSPECTION LAST JULY. THE LANDING GEAR NORMAL EXTENSION ASSEMBLY, DUKES LINEAR ACTUATOR, P/N 4196-00-1C S/N M20-190 WAS OVERHAULED ONE YEAR AGO.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
