## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) STUDENT PILOT WAS PRACTICING LANDINGS ON GRAVEL RUNWAY 1R AT BIRCHWOOD, AK (BCV). WIND WAS LEFT CROSSWIND, ESTIMATED 300 DEGREES @ 8 KNOTS. AFTER 4 TOUCH AND GO'S, PILOT WAS MAKING A FULL STOP LANDING. PILOT STATED TO INSPECTOR THAT, AFTER WHEEL LANDING WITH A LITTLE TOO MUCH SPEED, AIRCRAFT SWERVED TO THE LEFT, PILOT CORRECTED WITH BRAKES TO PREVENT GROUND LOOP. PILOT APPLIED TOO MUCH BRAKE PRESSURE, AND AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER, CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE PILOT, THE ONLY OCCUPANT, RECEIVED A BUMP ON THE FOREHEAD.
