## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR. LOGSTON WAS THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND OF THE LEAD AIRCRAFT IN A FLIGHT OF TWO PLANNING TO DEPART THE ARLINGTON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT. A TEMPORARY TOWER WAS OPERATING, AND CONTROLLERS WERE USING HAND SIGNALS TO FACILITATE DEPARTURES IN LIEU OF VHF COMMUNICATIONS. AFTER BEING CLEARED ONTO THE RUNWAY, BOTH AIRCRAFT WERE INSTRUCTED TO STOP. THE LEAD AIRCRAFT COMPLIED WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS, HOWEVER, THE SECOND AIRCRAFT FAILED TO STOP RESULTING IN A COLLISION ON THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA04LA129](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA04LA129), Jul 11, 2004: Logston Starduster SA100DL (N35RL), Arlington, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance during taxi from another aircraft standing on the runway resulting in a collision. The aircraft standing on the runway was a factor.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
