## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE AIRCRAFT WAS IN FLIGHT OVER HIGHLAND COUNTY OHIO WHEN IT BEGAN TO HAVE ENGINE PROBLEMS. THE PIC LOCATED AN OPEN FIELD AND EXECUTED THE AUTOROTATION PROCEDURE TO LAND. THE PILOT STATED THAT DURING THE DESCENT AT ABOUT TEN FEET OFF THE GROUND THE AIRCRAFT JUST DROPPED TO THE GROUND. THE HARD LANDING RESULTED IN MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT IN THE TAIL BOOM AREA AND THE TAIL ROTOR BELT BEING BROKEN. THIS WAS A HOME BUILT EXEC-162-F. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO EITHER THE PASSENGER OR PIC.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
