## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THIS FLIGHT WAS MR. BAILEY'S BFR. MR ROSS WAS THE CFI. BOTH REPORTED THAT THE LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT FULL RETRACT AFTER TAKE-OFF. THE LANDING GEAR ALSO FAILED TO FULLY EXTEND WHEN COMMANDED. THE LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED DURING LANDING ON RUNWAY 24, NAPA COUNTY AIRPORT (APC). THE AIRCRAFT, LANDED BY MR. ROSS, SUSTAINED ONLY MINOR DAMAGE. NEITHER OCCUPANT WAS INJURED. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE FAILURE OF THE LANDING GEAR HYDRAULIC POWER-PACK MOTOR DUE TO EXCESSIVE BRUSH WEAR. THIS WAS A REPLACEMENT POWER-PACK ASSEMBLY. IT WAS INSTALLED MAY 16, 1993 AT 1157.0 AIRCRAFT HOURS AS A "REBUILT" UNIT. THIS REPORT WILL BE AMENDED AS FURTHER INFORMATION WARRANTS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
