## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT FLEW VFR FROM NORTH LAS VEGAS AIRPORT (VGT) ENROUTE TO STEUBENVILLE, OH (2G2) IN VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS. PILOT PLANNED TO STOP IN LAMAR, CO (LAA) TO REFUEL AS HE HAD ON PREVIOUS FLIGHTS, BUT FAILED TO MONITOR FUEL CONSUMPTION. PILOT RAN OUT OF FUEL NEAR MODEL, COLORADO WHILE FLYING AT 13,500 MSL. PILOT MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING, HIT TREES, AND DESTROYED THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN04CA121](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN04CA121), Jul 22, 2004: Piper PA-24-250 (N7064P), Model, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's improper in-flight planning and decision making resulting in a loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion. A contributing factor was the trees.

## Other reports on N7064P (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19760404008829A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19760404008829A), Apr 4, 1976: Piper PA24250 (N7064P), Quincy, FL, Substantial damage

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
