## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DATA ^ THE PILOT/OPERATOR OF A CHALLENGER II ULTRALIGHT VEHICLE, WITHOUT CIVIL REGISTRATION MARKINGS, HAD TOLD OTHERS OF HIS INTENT TO CONDUCT A 'TAXI ONLY' CHECK OF THIS AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT AND AIRCRAFT WERE LATER FOUND RESTING UPSIDE DOWN UPON THE GRASS RUNWAY SURFACE AT THE LAWRENCEVILLE-VINCENNES AIRPORT. AS THERE WERE NO WITNESSES TO DESCRIBE THE EVENT AS IT TRANSPIRED, IT IS NOT KNOWN IF THE AIRCRAFT INCIDENT OCCURRED DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURE OR PILOT ERROR. THE PILOT SUSTAINED FATAL INJURIES AS A RESULT OF THIS EVENT AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
