## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING A TOUCH AND GO ON RUNWAY 6, THE AIRCRAFT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL AND DEPARTED THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. ACCORDING TO WITNESS STATEMENTS, FULL POWER WAS APPLIED TO THE AIRCRAFT AND THE AIRCRAFT TRAVELED APPROX. 1100 FEET UNTIL IT IMPACTED ANOTHER AIRCRAFT, 3 PARKED CARS AND AN AIRCRAFT HANGAR. A POST IMPACT FIRE CONSUMED MOST OF THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB IAD04FA033](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/IAD04FA033), Jul 25, 2004: Piper PA-28-161 (N38355), Toughkenamon, PA, destroyed, 4 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's decision to add power, in an attempt to abort the landing after the airplane had veered off the runway. A factor was the pilot's failure to maintain directional control after the landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
