As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT ON TAKEOFF ROLL OUT OF YAK THE AFT CARGO DOOR OPENED. TAKEOFF WAS ABORTED AND PILOT EXAMINED AIRCRAFT FOR DAMAGE. NOT NOTING ANY DAMAGE CONTINUED TO ANC. AT TIME OF MAINTENANCE THE MECHANIC NOTICED DAMAGE TO THE AFT FUSELAGE WHERE THE DOOR MAY HAVE IMPACTED. AFTER FURTHER REVIEW IT WAS DETERMINED THAT LONGITUDINAL STRINGERS HAD TO BE REPLACED DEEMING THIS AN ACCIDENT. PILOT STATED THAT THE FLAPS DID WORK FOR TAKEOFF, 206 FORWARD DOOR HAS A MICRO SWITCH TOP AND WILL NOT POWER FLAPS IF DOOR IS AJAR, USED CHECKLIST AND DID A PREFLIGHT ON THE AIRCRAFT THAT INCLUDED CLOSING AND LOCKING THE DOORS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC04LA099](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC04LA099), Jul 29, 2004: Cessna U206G (N9178G), Yakutat, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate preflight inspection, and his failure to secure the cargo door, which resulted in the cargo door coming open during the takeoff roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
