## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 07/30/2004 AT 1020 CDST, A NORTH AMERICAN T-28 HAD A PROP STRIKE ON LANDING RUNWAY 27 AT THE OSHKOSH AIR ADVENTURE AIR SHOW, OSHKOSH WI. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE TO EACH PROP TIP. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. NO FLIGHT PLAN ON FILE. THE PILOT WAS INTERVIEWED. HE STATED AFTER BEING DIRECTED TO MAKE A GO AROUND. THE NEXT APPROACH HE WAS INSTRUCTED TO LAND LONG AND COMPLIED. ON ROLL OUT HE THEN WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAXI ONTO THE GRASS. HE ASKED FOR DIFFERENT INSTRUCTIONS BUT FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS. THE AIRCRAFT NOSEWHEEL SUNK INTO THE SOFT TURF ALLOWING THE PROP TO STRIKE THE GROUND. TOWER TAPES WERE REVIEWED. THE PILOT WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAXI ONTO THE GRASS. AFTER HIS REQUEST TO BACK TAXI HE WAS GIVEN THE OPTION TO MAKE A RIGHT EXIT ONTO A HARD SURFACE TAXIWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
