## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS FLYING FROM EVERETT, WASHINGTON TO MONTANA WHEN HIS VACUUM PUMP FAILED. HE LANDED AT LAKE CHELAN AND TAXIED TO CHELAN AIRWAYS TO SEE IF ANYONE WAS THERE. HE CIRCLED AROUND THEIR DOCK AREA AND WHEN HE DIDN'T SEE ANYONE THERE, HE TURNED AROUND TO TAXI AWAY FROM THEIR DOCK AREA. WHEN HE TURNED AROUND, HIS LEFT WING TIP STRUCK THE RUDDER OF THE CESSNA 185, N87ST, PARKED AT CHELAN AIRWAYS DOCK. THE COLLISION CAUSED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE CESSNA'S RUDDER, BUT VERY LITTLE DAMAGE TO THE STINSON'S WINGTIP. THE STINSON PILOT DID NOT NOTICE THE COLLISION OR ANY DAMAGE TO HIS AIRPLANE. HE DEPARTED LAKE CHELAN AND CONTINUED ON TO MONTANA. (-23 AMENDMENT) CHANGE NARRATIVE TO REFLECT THAT THERE WAS NO APPARENT DAMAGE TO STINSON'S WINGTIP.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
