## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING A LANDING ROLLOUT, AT GOWEN FIELD, THE NOSE GEAR OF N6428V COLLAPSED. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE, INCLUDING PROP TIP CURLING AND SURFACE ABRASION TO THE AIRCRAFT'S FORWARD LOWER FUSELAGE. THE AIRCRAFT'S GEAR WAS MANUALLY AND ELECTRICALLY EXTENDED FOLLOWING A POST INCIDENT INSPECTION, AND BOTH SYSTEMS OPERATED CORRECTLY WITHOUT ANY MAINTENANCE IRREGULARITY. THE LOGBOOKS ALSO, DID NOT INDICATE ANY PREVIOUS HISTORY OF GEAR MALFUNCTION OR RECENT MAINTENANCE WHICH COULD ATTRIBUTE TO THE UNWARRANTED NOSE-GEAR RETRACTION. EVIDENCE STRONGLY INDICATES THAT THE COMMERCIAL STUDENT, WHILE RECEIVING FLIGHT INSTRUCTION ON SOFT-FIELD TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS IN A COMPLEX AIRCRAFT, INADVERTENTLY RAISED THE GEAR LEVER INSTEAD OF THE FLAPS. THE CFI FAILED TO PREVENT THE STUDENT FROM RAISING THE GEAR. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITT^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
