## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON AUGUST 10, 2004 AT APPROXIMATELY 08:00, RICHARD ENGSTROM WAS PILOTING N5442P A PIPER PA-24-250. HE ENTERED THE TRAFFIC PATTERN FOR A LANDING AT THUN FIELD IN PUYALLUP. AFTER ENTERING THE PATTERN FROM THE 45, HE LOWERED THE LANDING GEAR AND THE FLAPS. FROM BASE TO FINAL HE LOWERED THE FLAPS AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT. THE NEXT THING THE PILOT REMEMBERS IS THE PROPELLER BLADES HITTING THE RUNWAY AND THE ENGINE STOPPING AND THE AIRPLANE COMING TO A SKIDDING STOP. THE PILOT REMOVED HIS HEADSET AND HEARD A HORN GOING OFF IN THE AIRCRAFT. HE TURNED OFF THE MASTER SWITCH AND REALIZED HE LANDED WITH THE LANDING GEAR UP. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SKIN DAMAGE ON THE BELLY AND THREE BENT PROPELLER BLADES AT THE TIP. PILOT WAS UNINJURED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
