## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR. AUSTIN FLEW N399BR FROM L45 TO KBFL UNDER VFR. AFTER TAKEOFF FROM L45, HE FORGOT TO RAISE THE NOSE GEAR. WHILE PREPARING TO LAND AT KBFL, HE MANIPULATED THE LANDING GEAR CONTROL THINKING HE WAS LOWERING THE GEAR WHEN HE WAS ACTUALLY RETRACTING IT. ON LANDING, THE MAIN GEAR (FIXED) SUPPORTED THE AIRCRAFT BUT THE NOSE LOWERED TO THE RUNWAY RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ABLE TO BE RAISED UP BY THE PILOT AND THE NOSE GEAR PLACED IN PROPER POSITION. THEREAFTER IT TAXIED UNDER ITS OWN POWER. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE ACCEPTED FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ERROR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
