## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DAT^, THE PILOT, AND ^PRIVACY DATA^ THE PASSENGER, DEPARTED AND LANDED AT LBL. UPON LANDING ROLL, AIRCRAFT MADE A UNCOMMANDED LEFT TURN. BRAKES WERE APPLIED TO SLOW THE AIRCRAFT AND FOR DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. THE THREE SKID MARKS ON THE RUNWAY INDICATE THE NOSE TIRE WAS TURNING LEFT AND BOTH BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE AIRCRAFT LEFT THE RUNWAY, AND THE NOSE GEAR ASSEMBLY DUG INTO THE SOFT SOIL AND BROKE AWAY AND SEPARATED THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED OVER ON ITS TOP, THE RIGHT WING BROKE AWAY AT THE WING ROOT AND ALSO SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE SPEED OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS ESTIMATED BY THE PILOT TO BE APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AS IT LEFT THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER RELEASED THEIR HARNESS ASSEMBLIES AND EVACUATED THE AIRCRAFT WITH MINOR INJURIES. BOTH WERE TAKEN BY AMBULANCE TO LOCAL HOSPITAL, TREATED FOR MINOR CUTS AND RELEASED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI04CA230](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI04CA230), Aug 18, 2004: Bowles Questair Venture (N39SB), Liberal, KS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of directional control during landing for undetermined reasons.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
