## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT EXPLAINED THAT HE WAS INITIATING A TAKEOFF ON RUNWAY 35 AT SALMON, THE TAIL OF THE AIRCRAFT CAME UP QUICK AND THE AIRCRAFT STARTED HEADING TO THE LEFT. HE COMPENSATED BY USING RIGHT BRAKE. THIS CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO VEER EXCESSIVELY TO THE RIGHT WHERE IT WENT OFF THE RUNWAY INTO THE PARALLEL DRAINAGE DITCH AND FLIPPED OVER, COMING TO REST INVERTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA04LA172](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA04LA172), Aug 21, 2004: Tubbs PA-18-225 DD (N7993A), Salmon, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: Directional control not maintained during the takeoff roll resulting in a runway excursion and subsequent nose over. Factors include a drainage ditch.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
