## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED AFTER TOUCHDOWN ON RUNWAY 24 HE PLACED THE THROTTLES INTO THE BETA RANGE WHEN THE AIRCRAFT STARTED TO VEER RIGHT, HE THEN CORRECTED WITH LEFT RUDDER TO BRING BACK TO RUNWAY HEADING. DURING THIS CORRECTION THE RIGHT WING CONTACTED THE RUNWAY. AFTER REALIGNING THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RUNWAY HEADING HE RELEASED THE LEFT RUDDER INPUT AND FELT THE LEFT LANDING GEAR COLLAPSE THEN THE RIGHT GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT SLID DOWN THE RUNWAY TO A STOP, NO INJURIES. AFTER VISUAL INSPECTION OF THE DAMAGED AREAS THERE APPEARED TO BE NO EVIDENCE OF PREVIOUS DAMAGE THAT WAS PRESENT BEFORE THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC04CA196](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC04CA196), Aug 22, 2004: Wahl S-51D (N151BW), Louisville, KY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain directional control on the runway during landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
