## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) A BEECHCRAFT B-55 OPERATED BY THE INTERNATIONAL AIRLINE TRAINING ACADEMY WAS ON TAKEOFF ROLL AT RYAN FIELD, TUCSON, ARIZONA; AT APPROXIMATELY 65 KNOTS A DARK SHADOW (LATER IDENTIFIED AS AN 80LB CHOW DOG) APPEARED STRIKING THE NOSE GEAR. THEN THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. PILOT IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT POWER TO IDLE, INSTRUCTOR TOOK CONTROL HELD THE NOSE OFF THE RUNWAY. MIXTURES WERE PLACED IN CUTOFF AND THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT DROPPED DOWN TO THE RUNWAY SURFACE. FLIGHT CREW EXITED THE AIRCRAFT. DAMAGE TO NOSE GEAR, PROPELLERS AND ENGINES. NO ADDITIONAL CAUSAL FACTORS AT THIS TIME.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
