## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHEN ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ PURCHASED N86JT, AN EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT KNOWN AS A QUICKIE 2, THE AIRCRAFT HAD BEEN COMPLETELY ASSEMBLED, AND CERTIFICATED, BUT THE AIRCRAFT HAD NOT BEEN TEST FLOWN. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS TAKING OFF, FOR THE FIRST TEST FLIGHT ON RUNWAY 26, AT CHINO AIRPORT, CHINO, CA., WHEN HE NOTICED THE AIRSPEED INDICATOR WAS NOT RESPONDING PROPERLY. HE RETARDED THE THROTTLE, THE AIRCRAFT SETTLED BACK ON THE RUNWAY, SWERVED LEFT, HIT THE UNEVEN SURFACE JUST OFF THE RUNWAY, WHICH CAUSED THE LEFT WHEEL ASSEMBLY TO SEPARATE, AND THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP. UPON CLOSER EXAMINATION IT APPEARED DURING ASSEMBLE THE FUSELAGE WAS NOT MATED TO THE WING CORRECTLY, WHICH COULD HAVE CREATED MORE LIFT ON THE LEFT WING. THE CAUSE FOR THE AIRSPEED NOT RESPONDING PROPERLY IS UNKNOWN. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT AND WAS NOT INJURED. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
