## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS APPARENTLY HURRYING TO EXIT THE RUNWAY PRIOR TO THE ARRIVAL OF AN ALASKA AIRLINES JET. WHEN THE PILOT TURNED ONTO THE TAXIWAY, HE WAS BLINDED BY THE REFLECTION OF THE SUN, AND CONTINUED THE TURN INTO A TAXIWAY SIGN. THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR AND PROPELLER WERE DAMAGED, AS WELL AS THE TAXIWAY SIGN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC04LA100](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC04LA100), Sep 1, 2004: Piper PA-14 (N4241H), Cordova, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain an adequate visual lookout during taxi, which resulted in a collision with a runway marker sign. A factor contributing to the accident was sunglare in the pilot's eyes.

## Other reports on N4241H (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19740408013389A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19740408013389A), Apr 8, 1974: Piper PA14 (N4241H), Mcgrath, AK, Substantial damage. Pilot failed to select proper fuel tank. He knew selector placard was missing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
