## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT ATTEMPTED LANDING ON RUNWAY 36 AT CRIVITZ MUNICIPAL ARPT. IN CRIVITZ, WI., WHICH HAS A 2155 FOOT PAVED RUNWAY. PILOT ADMITTED LANDING SLIGHTLY LONG AND WHEN IT BECAME APPARENT THAT HE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT HE ADDED POWER AND ABORTED THE LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT'S THREE LANDING GEAR IMPACTED THE GROUND APPROXIMATELY TWO FEET PRIOR TO A PAVED ROAD THAT WAS APPROXIMATELY 25 FEET PAST THE END OF THE RUNWAY. THE IMPACT, JUST PRIOR TO THE ROAD, BROKE OFF BOTH MAIN LANDING GEAR, AFTER WHICH THE AIRCRAFT ENCOUNTERED A CORN FIELD IMMEDIATELY ON THE OTHER (NORTH) SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CORN STALKS WERE CHOPPED OFF FOR APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET INTO THE CORN FIELD. THE PILOT CONTINUED FLIGHT AND ELECTED TO LAND AT THE MENOMINEE-MARINETTE TWIN COUNTY AIRPORT APPROXIMATELY 25 MILES TO THE EAST NORTHEAST. DURING THE FLIGHT TO MENOMINEE THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT AND UPON LANDING THE LEFT MAIN GEAR WAS HANGING BY THE BRAKE LINE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI04CA250](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI04CA250), Sep 2, 2004: Piper PA-32-301 (N8173J), Crivitz, WI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The proper touchdown point not attained by the pilot during landing. The road and tailwind were contributing factors.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
