(-23) ON 09-03-04, AT APPROX. 1530 EDT, AN AMERICAN CHAMPION 7GCAC AIRCRAFT WITH REGISTRATION N327AC CONDUCTED A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING DUE TO A MALFUNCTIONING FUEL GAUGE. DURING THE LANDING AT A PRIVATE LANDING FIELD, THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE WHEN IT TOUCHED DOWN APPROX. AT THE MID POINT OF THE RUNWAY AND COULD NOT STOP IN THE REMAINING RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT RAN OFF THE END OF THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO A STOP IN A DRAINAGE DITCH. THE PRIVATE PILOT RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES, THE ONE PASSENGER WAS NOT INJURED AND THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO OTHER PERSONS OR PROPERTY. THE FLIGHT HAD DEPARTED OSWEGO NY IN VMC CONDITIONS AND NO FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
