## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS TAXIING IN FROM THE MAIN RUNWAY WHEN THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT A BOLT WAS MISSING FROM THE NOSE GEAR DOWN LOCK SYSTEM. NOSE GEAR MAINTENANCE HAD BEEN PERFORMED 1.8 HOURS BEFORE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN04LA140](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN04LA140), Sep 8, 2004: Beech B-60 (N1551L), Casper, WY, substantial damage. Probable cause: the missing nose gear assembly bolt, spacer and nut resulting in a gear collapse due to improper maintenance procedures. Contributing to the accident was the collision with the storm drain.

## Other reports on N1551L (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19950721024969I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19950721024969I), Jul 21, 1995: Beech B60 (N1551L), Bend, OR, Minor damage. Struck a coyote on landing roll. Impact collapsed nose gear.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
