## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2004, A HAWKER 800 XP, S/N 258478, REGISTERED AS N800DR WAS CLIMBING FROM FL 290 TO FL 310 WHILE ENROUTE FROM RICHMOND VIRGINIA (RIC) TO GREEN BAY WISCONSIN (GRB). DURING THE CLIMB, THE CREW REPORTED AN AUDIBLE BANG FOLLOWED BY STRONG VIBRATION THROUGHOUT THE AIRFRAME. THE CREW NOTIFIED ATC AND BEGAN A DESCENT. THE LEFT ENGINE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE CREW SECURED THE LEFT ENGINE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AIRCRAFT FLIGHT MANUAL. THE CREW INITIALLY NOTIFIED ATC OF THEIR INTENT TO LAND AT PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (PIT) BUT SUBSEQUENTLY REQUESTED TO LAND AT ALLEGHENY COUNTY AIRPORT (AGC) BECAUSE IT WAS 15 TO 20 MILES CLOSER. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED AT AGC AT APPROXIMATELY 08:50E AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP UNEVENTFULLY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE TWO CREWMEMBERS AND EIGHT PASSENGERS. THE FLIGHT CREW'S ACTIONS OF LACK OF ACTIONS DID NOT CONTRIBUTE TO THIS INCIDENT. SUBMISSION OF THIS REPORT CLOSES THIS INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
