## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT MADE HIGH APPROACH AT X93 WITH A MIDFIELD TOUCH DOWN. HE CONTINUED ON THE RUNWAY FINALLY STOPPING AROUND 200 FEET AFTER THE APPROACH ENDED ON A GRASSY AREA. DUE TO THE GRASSY AREA'S IRREGULAR TERRAIN AIRPLANE SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE ON THE PROPELLER AND THE LANDING GEAR. DURING THE INVESTIGATION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE PILOT HELD A CANADIAN PILOT CERTIFICATE ONLY (NO FAA CERTIFICATES). AFTER THE INCIDENT HE WENT BACK TO CANADA LEAVING NO TRACKING INFORMATION. AIRCRAFT OWNER DECLARED THAT HE HIRED THIS INDIVIDUAL FOR ONLY TWO WEEKS PART TIME FOR HIS SKYDIVING BUSINESS WITHOUT CHECKING AIRMAN RECORDS NOR MAINTAINING ANY KIND OF FILE ON THIS PILOT. (-23 AMENDMENT) DURING THE INVESTIGATION IT WAS FOUND THAT PILOT HELD A U.S. PRIVATE PILOT CERTIFICATE BASED ON A CANADIAN COMMERCIAL PILOT CERTIFICATE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
