## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT REPORTED ON 9/12/04 AT APPROXIMATELY 1600 HOURS, HE WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN DURING A PERSONAL FLIGHT AND A 3 FOOT PANEL FLEW OFF OF THE TOP OF THE LEFT WING. THERE WAS A LOSS OF LIFT ON THE LEFT WING. IN TRYING TO LAND AT CDI HE HAD TO MAINTAIN A HIGH AIRSPEED AND MADE A HARD LANDING. THE NOSEWHEEL BROKE OFF AND THE PROPELLER BLADES STRUCK THE RUNWAY PAVEMENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
