## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2004, AT APPROXIMATELY 1520 EASTERN STANDARD TIME, A EMBRAER EMB-145, N810HK, FLIGHT NUMBER 3564 CONDUCTED UNDER 14 CFR PART 121, BY TRANS STATES AIRLINES, HAD A NOSE WHEEL STEERING FAILURE AFTER LANDING ON RUNWAY 10R AT PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (PIT), PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA. THE CREW WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE AIRCRAFT USING THE RUDDER AND STEER IT OFF OF THE RUNWAY ONTO TAXIWAY F WHERE IT WAS STOPPED WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE PASSENGERS WERE DEPLANED USING THE AIRCRAFT'S STAIRS AND SHUTTLED TO THE TERMINAL. SUBSEQUENTLY THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED TO THE RAMP. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE CREW OR PASSENGERS. THE FLIGHT CREW'S ACTIONS OR LACK OF ACTIONS DID NOT CONTRIBUTE TO THIS INCIDENT. THIS CLOSED THE INVESTIGATION OF THIS INCIDENT AND NO FURTHER ACTION IS REQUIRED FROM THIS OFFICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
