## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE LANDING, AFTER THE FLOATS WERE IN THE WATER, THE LEFT WING CONTACTED A TREE AND SWUNG THE AIRCRAFT TOWARD THE RIVER BANK AND FINALLY UP ONTO THE BANK OF THE RIVER WHERE IT CAME TO REST. THE PILOT AND PASSENGERS EXITED THE AIRCRAFT IN A NORMAL FASHION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC04CA114](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC04CA114), Sep 25, 2004: de Havilland DHC-2 (N1018D), Willow, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's selection of an unsuitable landing area, which resulted in an on-ground collision with trees during the landing roll. A factor associated with the accident were trees.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
