(-23) ON A ROUTINE FLIGHT (ABOUT 30 MIN) WHEN ENGINE QUIT. PILOT NOTICED FUEL TANK SELECTOR WAS NOT ON MAIN TANK. AFTER PILOT SWITCHED TO MAIN TANK THE ENGINE DID NOT RESTART. PILOT DECIDED TO LAND IN NEAREST PASTURE.
