## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING A SIGHTSEEING FLIGHT OVER LAKE COEUR D'ALENE THE PROPELLER ATTACH BOLTS SHEARED. THE WOODEN PROPELLER DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT SET THE AIRCRAFT DOWN IN A GRASS FIELD KNOWN AS THE "BLACKROCK GOLF COURSE." THE LANDING GEAR LEFT THE AIRFRAME, BUT OVERALL, AIRCRAFT DAMAGE APPEARS MINOR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA05LA008](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA05LA008), Oct 2, 2004: Higgins Acro-Sport II (N214JH), Coeur d'Alene, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The airplane's wood propeller separated from the airplane during cruise. A factor was the ditch that the airplane impacted during the landing roll subsequent to the forced landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
