## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON A FLIGHT FROM WATSONVILLE (WVI) TO UNIVERSITY AIRPORT, DAVIS CA. (0O5), THE PILOT REPORTED THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SPUTTER AND LOWER POWER. THE PILOT CONTACTED APPROACH AND DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, HE WAS ROUTED TO TRAVIS AFB CA. THE PILOT LANDED SAFELY WITH NO DAMAGE OR INJURY. MAINTENANCE INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT FINDING THE SPARK PLUGS WERE OIL FOWLED. THE ENGINE IS A HIGH TIME IN SERVICE AND IS USING OIL. THE PLUGS WERE CLEANED AND THE AIRCRAFT FLOWN BACK TO DAVIS. MAINTENANCE INDICATES THE ENGINE WILL BE REMOVED FOR OVERHAUL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
