## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT REPORTED, ON ROLL OUT AFTER LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN DRIFTING TO THE LEFT. THE DRIFT COULD NOT BE CONTROLLED WITH THE RUDDER PEDALS AND THE AIRCRAFT WENT OFF THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, WAS SLOWED BY THE WET GROUND AND TIPPED UP ON ITS NOSE. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER EXITED THE AIRCRAFT UNINJURED, PULLED THE TAIL DOWN AND FOUND THAT A LINK ON THE RIGHT TAIL WHEEL SPRING HAD FAILED. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED TO THE OWNERS HANGAR.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
