## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) "INDUSTRIAL INCIDENT-NO INTENT TO FLY" EUROCOPTER N122PD WAS PARKED ON THE RAMP NEAR THE SIGNATURE FBO FACILITY AT JOHN WAYNE/ORANGE COUNTY AIRPORT (SNA). IT WAS NOT OCCUPIED. ANOTHER HELICOPTER, EUROCOPTER N168JB WAS PARKED IMMEDIATELY SOUTH OF N122PD. BOTH AIRCRAFT WERE FACING SOUTH. WHEN N168JB LIFTED OFF, AT ABOUT 50 FEET AGL, THE PILOT EXECUTED A LEFT PEDAL TURN. THE DOWNWASH FROM HIS ROTOR SYSTEM CAUSED THE ROTORS BLADES OF N122PD TO FLOP UP AND DOWN AND THEN ROTATE. ONE OF THE BLADES STRUCK THE UPPER AFT PORTION OF THE TAIL BOOM CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE. THE ROTOR BLADES WERE REMOVED FROM THE AIRCRAFT. PREPARATIONS ARE BEING MADE TO SHIP THEM TO A REPAIR FACILITY FOR INSPECTION. THERE WAS ALSO A MINOR SCRATCH ON THE TAIL BOOM OF N122PD. AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT, THERE WAS AIRPORT CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS WHICH REDUCED THE AMOUNT OF MANEUVERING ROOM ON THE FBO RAMP. HELICOPTER UNOCCUPIED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
