## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT WAS A REGISTERED PARTICIPANT IN THE ALBUQUERQUE BALLOON FIESTA (AIBF). DURING LANDING, THE BALLOON SYSTEM DRIFTED INTO A LOW VOLTAGE POWER LINE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED HOWEVER, A 4 YEAR OLD MALE PASSENGER WHO WAS STANDING ON TOP OF A PROPANE TANK IN ORDER TO SEE OUT WAS STRUCK IN THE FOREHEAD BY THE WIRE AND RECEIVED A 4 TO 5 INCH LONG LACERATION ACROSS HIS FOREHEAD WHICH REQUIRED HOSPITALIZATION. HE RECEIVED 15 STITCHES DURING AN OUTPATIENT SURGICAL PROCEDURE AND WAS RELEASED TO HIS PARENT ON THE SAME DAY. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
