## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT DEPARTED PDK SOUTHBOUND TO VENICE, FLA (VNC). APPROXIMATELY 7 MILES SOUTH OF PDK THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE WAS IN "TROUBLE". THE CONTROLLER ISSUED A HEADING EASTBOUND, THE PILOT DID NOT RESPOND, SHORTLY THEREAFTER RADAR CONTACT WAS LOST AND THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED IN A BODY SHOP PARKING LOT ON EDGEWOOD AVE, ATLANTA, GA. THE AIRCRAFT CAUGHT FIRE AND WAS DESTROYED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL05FA010](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL05FA010), Oct 19, 2004: Beech B-55 (N322WW), Atlanta, GA, substantial damage, 2 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot initiated flight into known adverse weather conditions (thunderstorms), which resulted in a loss of control, and subsequent in-flight collision with the ground.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
