## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER TAKE OFF FROM RUNWAY 9L AT PHL TO CMH FLIGHT ATTENDANT NOTIFIED CAPTAIN THAT FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM LEFT WING. CAPTAIN VISUALLY VERIFIED FUEL LEAK BY LOOKING OUT HIS WINDOW. CAPTAIN DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH ATC BECAUSE OF THE FUEL LEAK AND REQUESTED IMMEDIATE CLEARANCE TO RETURN TO PHL. AIRCRAFT WAS SAFELY LANDED ON RUNWAY 9R AT PHL. AFTER AIRCRAFT STOPPED CAPTAIN EXECUTED THE EMERGENCY EVACUATION CHECKLIST BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE IGNITION OF FUEL LEAKING FROM LEFT WING. ALL PASSENGERS WERE EVACUATED USING THE GALLEY DOOR EXIT LOCATED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INJURY. THIS EXIT WAS USED BECAUSE OF THE FUEL LEAK ON THE LEFT WING. NO OTHER EXITS WERE USED DURING THE EVACUATION, WHICH TOOK APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 60 SECONDS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
