## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRPORT WEATHER REPORT JUST PRIOR TO THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT WAS 1/4 STATUTE MILE AT 0853 LOCAL. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED AT 0906 AND WAS FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY BY AN AIR NATIONAL GUARD SAFETY SWEEP OF THE RUNWAY. THE GUARD REPORTED VISIBILITY AS 2 TO 3 RUNWAY EDGE LIGHTS FOR THE LENGTH OF RUNWAY 26. THAT MAKES THE ACTUAL VISIBILITY AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT TO BE 4 TO 600 FEET HORIZONTALLY. N888TR DESCENDED BELOW ILS MINIMUMS, FOLLOWED THE RUNWAY EDGE LIGHTS DOWN RUNWAY 26 FOR 4600 FEET. WHEN HE CROSSED RUNWAY 17/35, THE PILOT LANDED HARD IN THE GRASS SOUTH OF 26 BETWEEN THE NORTH SOUTH RUNWAY AND TAXIWAY DELTA. N888TR RAN PARALLEL TO RUNWAY 26 FOR 65 FEET, DESTROYED THE TAXIWAY DELTA/RUNWAY 08/26 SIGN, AND THEN EXECUTED A TAKE-OFF AND MISSED APPROACH, LEAVING THE GROUND AGAIN 10 MORE FEET TOWARDS TAXIWAY DELTA.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

A factor was the below instrument approach landing minimum weather…

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong.
