## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI05LA019](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI05LA019), Oct 29, 2004: Piper PA-24 (N6764P), Buffalo Grove, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: Fatigue fracture of the engine crankshaft during initial climb after takeoff resulting in a complete loss of engine power. Contributing factors were the trees and the highway.

## Other reports on N6764P (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19900513015679I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19900513015679I), May 13, 1990: Piper PA24 (N6764P), St Louis, MO, Minor damage. Landing gear jammed in partially extended position. After touchdown the landing gear collapsed.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
