## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT IN COMMAND STATES THE AIRCRAFT LOST POWER WHILE IN CRUISE AT AROUND 4000 FEET MSL AND REQUESTED A LANDING WITH THE ENGINE OUT TO THE REID-HILLVIEW ATC TOWER. PILOT ALSO SAID HE TRIED TO START THE ENGINE WHILE IN FLIGHT WITH NO SUCCESS. THE AIRCRAFT MADE A SAFE LANDING AND WAS TOWED BACK TO THEIR HANGAR. FURTHER ATTEMPTS TO START THE ENGINE WHILE ON THE GROUND WERE SUCCESSFUL WITH NO APPARENT MECHANICAL MALFUNCTIONS. THE PILOT AND MECHANIC WHO EXAMINED THE AIRCRAFT SUSPECT FUEL CONTAMINATION OF SOME KIND.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
