## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMI^ PILOT IN COMMAND OF CESSNA 8803B WAS THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ON THIS FLIGHT. HE WAS ALSO CONDUCTING THE FIRST TOUCH AND GO LANDING. ON THE FLARE PORTION OF THE LANDING, THE CONTROL WHEEL CAUGHT AND HE WAS UNABLE TO PULL THE CONTROL WHEEL BACK ENOUGH TO FLARE AND LAND THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT HIT THE RUNWAY HARD, RESULTING IN STRUCTURAL DAMAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB IAD05LA010](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/IAD05LA010), Nov 4, 2004: Cessna 172 (N8803B), Wolfeboro, NH, substantial damage. Probable cause: A jammed control wheel during landing. A contributing factor to the accident was the inadequate maintenance inspection of the airplane's flight control system.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
