## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON NOVEMBER 08, 2004 AT APPROX. 1127 LOCAL TIME, A CESSNA 210-P210N MADE A FORCED LANDING DUE TO THE LANDING GEAR FAILURE WHILE PILOT WAS PERFORMING TOUCH AND GO'S ON RUNWAY 7 AT NORTH LAS VEGAS AIRPORT (VGT). THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE WITH LOWER SKIN (BELLY) AND PROPELLER DAMAGE. THE SOLE OCCUPANT WAS NOT INJURED DURING THE INCIDENT. PILOT ATTEMPTED SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE LANDING GEAR DOWN WITH NO RESULTS. DURING MAINTENANCE GEAR CHECK, MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL FOUND THAT THE GEAR WOULD NOT CYCLE UP OR DOWN DUE TO THE HYDRAULIC POWER PACK. THE POWER PACK WAS SENT OFF FOR OVERHAUL AND THE TEAR DOWN REPORTED THAT AFTER REMOVING THE DOOR SOLENOID ASSEMBLY THAT THE SPOOL WAS STUCK IN THE SLIDE AND NOT ABLE TO MOVE. INSPECTION COULD NOT FIND WHY SPOOL WAS STICKING (POSSIBLE CONTAMINATION). ALSO NOTED THAT THE SYSTEM THERMAL RELIEF VALVE WOULD NOT HOLD PRESSURE, PRIOR TO DISASSEMBLING THEM. THE UNIT WAS OVERHAULED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CESSNA 210 SERVICE AND PARTS MANUALS AND PUT BACK INTO SERVICE. MAINTENANCE WILL SUBMIT A M OR D REPORT ON THE HYDRAULIC POWER PACK.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
