## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT STATED HE HADN'T FLOWN IN A MONTH AND HAD A LIMITED TIME TO FLY. AFTER DOING SOME MANEUVERS TO GET BACK INTO FLYING, HE DECIDED TO PRACTICE SOME TOUCH AND GOS. THERE WAS A CROSSWIND OF APPROXIMATELY 15 KNOTS (THE PILOT'S PERSONAL MINIMUM) AND HE WAS CONCENTRATING ON THE CROSSWIND CORRECTION AND FORGOT TO PUT THE GEAR DOWN. CONTRIBUTING FACTOR COULD BE THE FACT THE PILOT'S NORMAL NOISE CANCELLING HEADSET HAD DEAD BATTERIES, SO HE USED A SET FROM THE BACK OF HIS AIRCRAFT. HE STATED THERE WAS A LOT OF STATIC, WHICH WAS DISTRACTING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
