## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON NOVEMBER 11, 2004, AT APPROXIMATELY 0811 EASTERN STANDARD TIME, A EMBRAER EMB-145, N562HK, FLIGHT NUMBER 3641 CONDUCTED UNDER 14 CFR PART 121, BY TRANS STATES AIRLINES, RETURNED TO PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (PIT), PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF FOLLOWING THE SHUT DOWN OF THE NUMBER ONE ENGINE DUE TO A BETA LIGHT WARNING ON THAT ENGINE. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON RUNWAY 28L WITHOUT INCIDENT AND THE AIRCRAFT RESCUE FIRE FIGHTING (ARFF) RESPONDED, HOWEVER, WERE NOT UTILIZED. THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED BACK TO THE RAMP WITHOUT INCIDENT. TRANS STATES MAINTENANCE CLEANED AND SWAPPED THE NUMBER ONE BETA SWITCH WITH THE NUMBER TWO ENGINE BETA SWITCH. SUBSEQUENTLY AN OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS PERFORMED, WHICH REVEALED NO FAULTS. TRANS STATES MAINTENANCE RETURNED THE AIRCRAFT TO SERVICE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE CREW OR PASSENGERS. THE FLIGHT CREW'S ACTIONS OR LACK OF ACTIONS DID NOT CONTRIBUTE TO THIS INCIDENT. THIS CLOSED THE INVESTIGATION OF THIS INCIDENT AND NO FURTHER ACTION IS REQUIRED FROM THIS OFFICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
