## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT CONTACTED LAKE HAVASU UNICOM FOR WEATHER INFORMATION. SEVERAL MINUTES LATER LAKE HAVASU UNICOM RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM PILOT STATING THAT HE WAS IN TROUBLE. UNICOM RESPONDED BACK BUT THERE WAS NO TRANSMISSION BACK FROM PILOT. THREE DAYS LATER WRECKAGE WAS FOUND, BOTH PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE FATALLY INJURED. AIRCRAFT WAS DESTROYED ON IMPACT ALONG WITH FIRE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX05FA034](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX05FA034), Nov 14, 2004: Beech A36 (N6111C), Lake Havasu, CA, destroyed, 2 fatal. Probable cause: the pilot's continued visual flight into instrument meteorological conditions leading to spatial disorientation and an in-flight loss of control.

## Other reports on N6111C (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19830503023069I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19830503023069I), May 3, 1983: Beech A36 (N6111C), Sioux City, IA, Minor damage. Failed to extend the landing gear. Landed gear up.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
