## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON DECEMBER 19, 2004, A ROBINSON HELICOPTER (R-22), N993RW, WAS ON A VFR TRAINING FLIGHT. THE PILOT AND INSTRUCTOR ATTEMPTED TO LAND AT AN OFF AIRPORT SITE, WHEN THE HELICOPTER SUSTAINED A HARD LANDING. (-23 AMENDMENT) THIS WAS A DUAL INSTRUCTION FLIGHT. THEY WERE TRAVELING UP TO THE MOUNTAINS TO THE JORDANELLE DAM AREA NEAR PARK CITY, UTAH. THE STUDENT WAS FLYING THE AIRCRAFT. THE FLIGHT WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND OFF AIRPORT AND HAD EXECUTED A GO-AROUND PREVIOUS TO THIS SECOND ATTEMPT AT LANDING. THE INSTRUCTOR STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT YAWED TO THE RIGHT ABOUT 180 DEGREES PRIOR TO HER TAKING THE CONTROLS. IT THEN LANDED HARD ON ITS SKIDS MAKING THEM BEND AND COME LOOSE FROM THEIR MOUNTS ON THE FUSELAGE. THIS IS A FINAL REPORT.
